Job Summary  (Primary function):
Reporting to the General Manager – Canada and as a founding member of the Canadian Incyte Leadership team, the main purpose of this newly created position is to support INCYTE products as well as future disease indications within Canada as the national expert in providing strategic knowledge about the national market access landscape as well as in monitoring the changes in market access policies and legislations. The main goal is to gain and maintain local optimal market access / pricing and reimbursement (P&R) conditions for Incyte’s portfolio of innovative therapeutic products.

Essential Functions of the Job  (Key responsibilities):
•  Partner with the General Manager - Canada and other members of the newly created Incyte Canada Leadership team to define the national negotiation strategy in line with regional and corporate guidelines.
•  Engage with local payers, local health and health technology assessment and pricing authorities as well as local patient associations and lead public and private payer negotiations to secure optimal coverage and listings of Incyte medicines in Canada.
•  Support strategic access planning for P&R submissions and economic model adaptations for pipeline products.
•  Develop and deliver solid and relevant Health Economics (HE) value arguments and tools for inline and pipeline products, including budget impact and cost-effectiveness models
•  Plan and execute local evidence generation.
•  Develop P&R submissions/renewals that are aligned with global Market Access strategy.
•  Provide inputs into the development and support of the brand value concept and develop the appropriate tools for the delivery of the brand value messages to payers, clinicians, pharmacists and other stakeholders.
•  Ensure and manage national stakeholders mapping.
•  Market research and provide regular updates on the competitors’ landscape for INCYTE’s core disease areas.
•  Liaise internally with global and regional market access functions as necessary.
•  Contribute positively to a strong culture of business integrity and ethics.
•  Act within compliance and legal requirements as well as within company guidelines.

Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency):
•  A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required. Graduate level science, economics and / or Business degree an asset.
•  Prior training in economics or an analytical commercial discipline an asset
•  10-year prior experience leading and securing successful Canadian health technology assessment (HTA) submissions, private and public payer negotiations and ensuring Canadian patients have sustainable access to therapeutic innovations in the areas of oncology, hematology, dermatology.
•  Prior experience in the successful commercial launch of new prescription therapies, particularly in hematological and solid tumor oncology and dermatology.
•  Prior experience in achieving positive HTA outcomes and experience in direct negotiation with local health authorities, reimbursement agencies, hospital administrators and health care insurance companies.
•  In-depth understanding of payers and their perspective in the local market as well as trends in Pricing & Reimbursement.
•  Strong influencing/negotiation skills and able to work at peer-level with experienced technical and commercial experts in other departments.
•  Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex or technical content in a convincing way to both technical and non-technical audiences.
•  Excellent leadership and management skills
•  Ability to influence and work effectively across functions and operate in a matrix environment
•  Prior experience in high growth situations, with breadth of experience and span often seen in start-up environments
•  Fluency in English (oral and written) required
•  Ability to work with national, regional and global colleagues
•  Prior management of direct reports with a view to building a team as Company grows its Canadian footprint
•  Ability to travel, as required
•  Canadian Head office location: Montreal
