General Manager, Benelux

Department: Regional Business Operations
Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands

Summary 

 

To build and lead the organization and the company’s business in the BENELUX. To drive future growth in terms of sales and profitability.

 

To have the overall responsibility for the establishment and development of the BENELUX operation and the definition and execution of the business plan for the products in the BENELUX, including meeting annual sales targets, driving marketing strategies and tactics in line with the company’s international business strategies and by supporting Benelux hospitals participation in Incyte’s clinical development plans.

 

To be responsible for the recruitment, leadership, management and on-going development of his/her leadership team as well as, through this, the growth and development of the organization more broadly.

 

To take part actively in the INCYTE Pharmaceuticals European Leadership Team and will therefore work closely with the other Country Managers of INCYTE Pharmaceuticals major markets.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for an effective Quality Management System
  • Full business development and P&L responsibility
  • Development of short and long term strategic plans for the affiliate’s development
  • Build-up, development and management of the team aligned with the business
    requirements
  • Attract, develop and retain talented team members
  • Create and drive a high-performing culture by encouraging innovation, customer focus and people well-being.
  • Development and implementation of market entry plans for future products (regulatory, patients advocacy, KOL management, local pricing & reimbursement, distribution)
  • Leading the reimbursement negotiations with local authorities and liaising with health authorities and payers as required
  • Raising the awareness and knowledge of Incyte and its products amongst all healthcare professionals of the relevant specialist areas
  • Development and maintenance of excellent relationships with key opinion leaders through close collaboration with the Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations and the sales and marketing teams
  • Maintenance of up to date skills and knowledge regarding scientific medical and sales and marketing best practice
  • Ensure appropriate management / leadership at national and international conferences and symposia
  • Contribute positively to a strong culture of business integrity and ethics
  • Act within compliance and legal requirements as well as within company guidelines

 

Requirements

  • Relevant academic degree in natural science and/or business economics
  • Substantial experience with a leading international life science company or business unit within the biopharmaceutical/pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience from a role in sales and marketing of Rx medicines and confident with modern disciplines in sales and marketing of Rx medicines to the specialty market
  • Preferably thorough knowledge within the therapeutic areas of oncology
  • Strong understanding of BENELUX pricing, regulatory processes and reimbursement procedures
  • Proven managerial skills and the ability to successfully work across multiple business functions including marketing, medical affairs, product development, manufacturing, finance, customer service and sales
  • Thorough experience and confidence when positioning specialty products with selected KOLs and prescribing physicians and hospitals
  • Significant experience in attracting, developing and retaining top talent, high caliber professionals and building teams
  • An entrepreneurial and innovative mindset
  • Ability to deal with complexity and ambiguity
  • Confident in reporting modern sales management and related systems
  • Experience in communicating and building relations with authorities, health care sector professionals including specialist care and sales, as well as KOL management
  • Excellent influencing and negotiating skills at all levels
  • Solutions orientated with excellent problem solving skills
