National Account Manager/Sr. National Account Manager (McKesson and US Oncology)

Department: Access & Reimbursement
Location: West Coast Region

Job Summary  (Primary function)
The Senior National Account Manager manages a National Strategic Account (McKesson and the Unity/Onmark GPOs, ION or Cardinal GPOs).  The position provides critical competitive intelligence within the market access marketplace to leadership. Preferred location:  West, South Central or Northwest.

 

Essential Functions of the Job  (Key responsibilities)

  • Create & maintain an account plan(s) for select National Account(s).
  • Responsible and accountable for the successful creation and implementation of the strategic and tactical plan for a national strategic account(s). Ensures and drives consistent implementation of account strategy with respect to pull through at the corporate level and within the regionally aligned GPO strategic accounts while establishing critical relationships with a variety of internal & external stakeholders: Account leadership, Market Access & Distribution Team, field sales, brand team, and medical affairs.
  • Conduct quarterly business updates with National Account and review performance of GPO aligned account sales channels.
  • Manage all aspects of the GPO Agreement for the National Account.
  • Coordinate with the Regional Strategic Account Managers on communication of GPO initiatives and pull-thru strategies at the regional level.
  • Identify corporate initiatives and services provided by the national account that align to Market Access & Distribution, Brand Strategy & Marketing/Sales Operations business needs and negotiate contract services, coordinate with legal thru to contract execution. Manage the relationship with the National Account for all means of the services contract(s).
  • Primary focus at launch/new indications will be to focus on identifying opportunities and services provided by the National Strategic Account and present to the Market Access, Brand Strategy, and Sales Operations Teams to support launch initiatives.
  • Create field sales access & HQ opportunities to enhance the current promotional messaging for Jakafi.
  • Proactively identify issues and challenges with accounts and engage appropriate resources in HQ for development of customer solutions.
  • Lead GPO contract pull-thru at the national level, set the strategy for the regional strategic accounts with IODP.
  • Establish strong customer management skills and relationships with strategic accounts.
  • Collaborate with Market Access, product strategy, sales and medical affairs team members to identify opportunities and reduce barriers to accessing Incyte products within National Strategic Account(s).
  • Participate, coordinate activities at assigned customer meetings or other industry meetings.

 

Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, oncology experience required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the market access segments of the business: Oncology GPOs.
  • Additional experience as a National Account Manager in oncology required.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard programs (Word, Excel, Power point).
  • Knowledge of Oncology GPOs, Medicaid/Medicare reimbursement model and programs, Oncology State Societies, Physician Network influences, emerging Clinical Pathways, IDNs and product distribution (Specialty Pharmacies).
  • Existing relationship with marketplace stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of Oncology IODP GPO model.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
  • High level of communication skills and ability to work with various stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Superb oral and written communication skills.
  • 50% Travel requirements.
