Research Investigator, Pharm Development

Department: Global Pharma Development
Location: Incyte Corporate Headquarters

Job Summary  (Primary function)
The Research Investigator, Pharmaceutical Development provides pharmaceutical development support for assigned drug development programs.  The position conducts formulation testing, works with CMO for clinical supply, packaging and labeling, technology transfer, and process validation in support of pharmaceutical development activities related to drug product.

Essential Functions of the Job  (Key responsibilities)

  • Support preclinical API version and form selection.
  • Develop formulations for use in toxicology studies
  • Perform preclinical formulation and analytical development
  • Develop bioenhanced formulations for low solubility compounds (BCS 2/4)
  • Develop phase appropriate formulations for use in clinical studies.
  • Perform analytical and stability testing.
  • Improve existing formulations.
  • Oversee activities at external contract labs.
  • Author technical reports.

Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)

  • B.S./M.S. in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience developing new chemicals.
  • Previous pharmaceutical development experience required.
  • Sound technical knowledge of solid dosage forms and various processing techniques.
  • Knowledge of topical product development and pediatric formulation is a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage workload independently.
  • Ability to work within a team and communicate effectively.
